# About Us

Since 1939 we have supplied custom-designed and engineered equipment, specialty chemical formulations, and complete treatment processes for cleaning and conditioning metal surfaces. Kolene® salts and systems are used worldwide for casting cleaning, alloy descaling, coatings removal, engine rebuild, and other industrial and [military applications](https://www.kolene.com/application/military-applications/). Our quality management system is [certified to ISO 9001:2015](https://www.kolene.com/isocert/) (certificate 263342).

Our staff includes scientists, engineers, and production process experts who support customers in aerospace, automotive, defense, foundry, stainless steel, and general manufacturing. Because we build the equipment and make the salts that run in it, one supplier answers for the whole process. Many of our customers have run Kolene processes for years, and we continue to support them.
