# Aluminum Investment Casting Cleaning

## How do you remove silica shell and core from aluminum investment castings?

Kolene® Kastech® AL750 molten salt leaches silica-based shell and core residue from aluminum investment castings, including the silica left in internal passages and blind areas after knock-out and mechanical cleaning. Salt bath cleaning is an immersion process, so multiple castings are processed at once. We supply batch and Unitized™ systems for the process, and we also clean aluminum investment castings with Kastech AL750 at our Detroit plant. Tell us the alloy, the residue, and your volume, and we will recommend a salt, a system, or processing at our Detroit plant.
